2018年9月20日-10月7日，由上海市科技翻译学会主办的“2018年上海市青年学术论坛之青少年探索之星分论坛活动”正式举行。论坛主题涵盖：机器人走进生活、基于光电转换原理的创新设计、动物与植物的关系、遗传的力量、可持续的生产和消费、生命科学、以及探月工程，学生可任选一项进行学术探索。

为了参加此次论坛，美国诺科学校上海分校多名学生放弃了国庆长假的休息，在学科老师的指导下积极准备，列提纲，查资料，然后按要求录制并递交了3分钟的英文演讲视频。

2018年10月12日下午，探索之星分论坛在华东师范大学第二附属中学电视台举办，多家上海的国际学校共同参与了本次活动。我校孙蝶、黄一鑫、乔小杨成功入选，获得论坛现场成果展示机会。

探索之星分论坛学生感言

It’s my pleasure that I could participate in "The 2018 Youth Academic Forum on the Exploration Star". The forum was very fantastic and authoritative, and I deeply indulged in it. At that day, I heard some interesting reports from different students and different schools, and advancing technologies were provided by many well known researchers. This is really helpful to horizon my view. I also talked my own topic which is called ‘The Relationship between Animals and Plants". I chose this topic because I like observing little animals and invesgating in biological field. Hence, this forum was really stunning for me. From my point of view, we should challenge in different categories of activities to jump out our comfort zones. Finally, I really appreciate Mr. Chase who was my instructor. Thank him for helping me sincerely and giving some real examples to make me more comprehensive to my topic.

For this time participating in "The 2018 Youth Academic Forum on the Exploration Star", it is quite fruitful. From preparation to formal speaking, the process is not only meaningful in experience, but also in learning AP subjects. When I decided to talk about the topic "Cap and Trade" which applies economics and chemistry, I didn't have an in-depth understanding;but with the research during National Holiday and the help from Ms. Sunny and Mr. Fei, I gradually understood the development and impact of "Cap and Trade" in the United States and China. This experience made me realize that some of the academic words which we are learning are not only in textbooks, but also in our daily lives.
