The theme that runs through Joseph’s diverse career is organizational and leadership development. He began as a paratrooper and officer in the U.S. Army Rangers where he learned the basics of group dynamics. After studying organizational behavior and public policy at Yale University, he followed a very independent career as a social entrepreneur organizing teams and projects that could contribute to healthier communities and nation. His most noteworthy accomplishment was the Reuniting America Project, a decade long effort to change the rules of US political engagement from win/lose to win/win that resulted in significant policy cooperation across previous divides. He has traveled to over 25 countries and his experience has taught him the truth of the phrase “the world is one country and all the people are its citizens,” he has come to believe the most effective path to a unified global civilization is educating children.
