　　GCSE in Geography gives students the opportunity to understand more about the world, the challenges it faces and their place within it. It also will deepen understanding of geographical processes, illuminate the impact of change and of complex people-environment interactions, highlight the dynamic links and interrelationships between places and environments at different scales, and develop students’ competence in using a wide range of geographical investigative skills and approaches. Geography enables young people to become globally and environmentally informed and thoughtful, enquiring citizens, meanwhile, other skills are also required, including mathematics and statistic skills.
　　考试结构Exam：
　　Three externally-examined papers, which includes:
　　Multiple-choice questions,
　　Short open,
　　Open response,
　　Calculations
　　8-mark extended writing questions
　　An externally-assessed written exam with three 30-mark sections. Of the 94(64 for component 3) raw marks available, up to 4 marks are awarded for spelling,
　　punctuation, grammar and use of specialist terminology.
　　Component 1 & 2:
　　Written examination: 1 hour and 30 minutes
　　37.5% of the qualification
　　94 marks
　　Component 3:
　　Written examination: 1 hour and 30 minutes
　　25% of the qualification
　　64 marks
